A uniquely patterned cabochon of purple sugilite is bezel-set in sterling silver, with a sterling silver bail. Sugilite is a rare alkali-lithium silicate; usually it is a dull green-yellow-brown but this brilliant purple variant was found in South Africa.
This is the first sugilite jewelry we've had at Taos Rockers in some time!
The set stone measures about 1.6" x 1.2" x 0.2" in depth (40mm x 30mm x 6mm) .
