Sphalerite
Sphalerite is the major ore of zinc. Its formula is ZnS, but it usually contains iron. When little or no iron is present, it can be white (cleophane); with increasing amounts of iron it can appear golden yellow, orange or brown. Dark, opaque sphalerite has a high iron content.
