This choker necklace is made out of Sterling Memory Silver and is split at the middle, showcasing two deep blue opals with brilliant bright green flashes. The Memory Silver enables you to pull the necklace open to slip it on and will return to the shape that it was molded to hold. 145mm wide = 14.5cm, resting right below the collar bone. 

Although Opal is still considered a mineral for historical reasons, it is amorphous and therefore referred to as a mineraloid. The “opalescent” effect is caused by numerous tiny silica spheres stacked and bonded with silica and water called hydrated silicon dioxide. Once solid, Opal maintains a water content of 3%-21%.

Silver was known as Argentum in ancient Rome, thus its abbreviation as Ag. It is a member of the copper group.
