This beautiful necklace has two beautiful strands of blue aquamarine beads sandwiching a strand of carnelian beads. Each strand has a few glass-and-24K-gold beads interspersed for an extra shot of bling! The shortest strand measures 14.5" and the longest strand 17.5". With the sterling silver clasp closing, this necklace is about 19" long.
Aquamarine is a variety of Beryl. It crystallizes prismatically, is sometimes vertically striated and, occasionally, terminated with small pyramidal faces. The color ranges from light blue to green. This mineral was first reported in 1747 by J.G. Wallerius and was named for its sea-like color.
