Peridotite/dunite Kilbourne Hole Maar, Dona Ana County, New Mexico.

Found as volcanic "xenolith bombs" - shallow explosive eruption debris expelled during the volcanic erption when hot magma encountered ground water approximately 25,000 years ago.  Derived from the Earth's mantle at depths greater than 30 km.

Small Cabinet Specimen. About 2.8" x 2.4" x 1.6" (7cm x 6cm x 4cm)
