Rose Quartz is a variety of quartz with coloring from pale pink to deep crimson caused by traces of iron, titanium or manganese. Usually found in massive form that is cloudy and not popular as a gem, though some rare formations of clear crystals have been found. Believed to form at high temperatures, rose quartz is often found in pegmatite quartz cores. Like other kinds of quartz, rose quartz exhibits the property of piezoelectricity, meaning it generates an electric charge in response to pressure.
